A pair of Pittsburgh bands are making major moves.
feeble little horse has signed to Saddle Creek Records. The Omaha, Nebraska label was co-founded by Justin Oberst -- Conor's brother -- in 1993. Their roster includes Big Thief, Black Belt Eagle Scout, Desaparecidos, and other acclaimed indie acts.
The noise pop four-piece formed in Pittsburgh just last year, in lead singer Ryan Walchonski’s South Oakland student apartment. NPR says their sound is “filled with crunchy textures and delightful little moments of tension."
Saddle Creek will re-release the band’s debut album, Hayday, on vinyl next January. You can catch them live at Club Cafe in South Side New Year’s Day.

Not to be outdone, Pittsburgh retro rock band Sweat has signed to Tee Pee Records, home to stoner rock and metal bands like Graveyard, Ruby the Hatchet, Kadavar, and Pittsburgh’s Carousel.
Sweat fits right in with their reverb-heavy labelmates -- their new single “Jane" would fit nicely alongside some Joan Jett & the Blackhearts on DVE's Electric Lunch. Hear for yourself:
The band has been active lately, playing in support of Mirror Queen at Cattivo last week, and a fundraiser for abortion doulas at Spirt the week before. Catch them at Spirit again November 18, supporting Astrology Now for their album release show.
